Here is a look inside the mid tower PC case that houses the drivers and power supply.

The drivers are from Gecko.  They are all model G210.  The G210 model allows several different microstepping modes.  I use three motors for single stepping and one set at 10 microsteps per step out of convenience since I have one project that requires microstepping (the Egg Mill) and most others do not.

The power supply components were purchased from Camtronics Inc and include two transformers hooked in series, a bridge rectifier, and a giant 18000 microfarad capacitor.  A bleed resistor is installed across the capacitor terminals to safely bleed off the enormous charge that gets built up in the capacitor.

Each stepper driver gets a dedicated 5 A slow blow fuse.

The fan pulls air through the large heat sink that the Gecko drives are attached to rather than pushing it through to cut down on inefficient swirl
