This is the egg mill.

The egg mill consists of a rack mounted to the XY table of a Shoptask Bridgemill  3 in 1 machine.

Attached to the other side of the small pulley in the picture is a 200 step per revolution stepper motor that is electronically converted to 2000 steps per revolution.

The pen floats inside two concentric brass cylinders mounted in the mill spindle.  The weight of the pen allows the pen to always be in contact with the egg.

A CNC program using KCAM software rotates the egg while the Y table moves the egg along it's axis.  The spring visible on the right maintains constant pressure on the egg.

Gecko stepper motor drivers have signals sent from a PC.
